BCA法是一种通过展示不同浓度样品的颜色变化来判断蛋白浓度的方法。在其提供的碱性环境下，蛋白质可以将BCA试剂中的Cu2+还原为Cu+，Cu+继而与BCA试剂螯合，从而产生蓝紫色的络合物，在562nm波长处具有强吸光峰，通过测定吸光度，结合标准曲线即可得知蛋白浓度。
